Emergency Response Basic course
What do you do if a fire starts or a colleague next to you becomes unwell? You will be able to answer this question after completing our Emergency Response (BHV) training courses and, if necessary, translate it into life-saving action to save a life.
During our basic BHV course, you will be actively engaged for the entire day and learn life-saving actions, how to extinguish a small fire, and the basic rules for initiating an evacuation.
The day starts with a discussion of the day’s activities over a cup of coffee, after which you will mainly get to work.
Below is an overview of what is covered during the day’s program.
Life-saving actions
During this part of the Emergency Response training, you will learn to recognize cardiac arrest and how to act. This is done under the guidance of highly experienced instructors, using an AED, and in accordance with the guidelines of the Dutch Resuscitation Council. You will learn how to perform life-saving actions within your industry. This means that we examine the greatest risks within each industry and tailor the course material to each participant accordingly.
Small fire extinguishers
During this part of the Emergency Response training, you will learn to recognize cardiac arrest and how to act. This is done under the guidance of highly experienced instructors and with the aid of an AED and
In this part of the course, you will learn to use the fire extinguishing equipment available within your company in the event of a fire starting. Nipping a fire in the bud means less damage and prevents the fire from escalating.

Evacuation
Evacuating a building is necessary when there is a risk of fire escalation. After this module, you will know exactly how to evacuate a building in accordance with a fixed plan, the Emergency Response Plan (BHV plan). You will also learn what emergency lighting is and how to interpret floor plans, possibly including a customized evacuation drill. You will also learn how to alert the emergency services and what information they require.
At the end of the day, an evaluation will take place over a drink. Upon completion and upon satisfactory results, you will receive the Veiligheidscompany BHV certificate.
